Air Vice-Marshal Margaret Staib, AM, CSC, CPL, FCILT, Commander Joint Logistics, Australian Defence Force, has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution to Supply Chain Management in Australia accolade at this year'™s Smart Awards.

Air Vice-Marshal Margaret Staib was presented with the award by Michael Watkins, Chair Smart 2011 Organising Committee, at the Supply Chain Industry Dinner and Smart Awards night at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre on Thursday night May 26.

Air Vice-Marshal Margaret Staib was appointed Commander Joint Logistics in January 2010 and, as Australia'™s Senior Defence Strategic Logistician, is accountable for the oversight and assurance of the Defence logistics capability. In a previous posting to Joint Logistics Command, Air Vice-Marshal Staib was Director General Strategic Logistics Branch where in 2008, she led the development of the logistics contribution to the Force 2030 Defence White Paper. Now as Commander Joint Logistics Air Vice-Marshal Staib has carriage of implementing significant White Paper reforms that will transform Defence logistics.

Previous recipients of the Smart Award for Outstanding Contribution to Supply Chain Management in Australia include Lindsay Fox AC; Roger Corbett AM; Chris Corrigan, CEO, Patrick Corporation; Dr John Gattorna, Professor in Supply Chain Management and Vice Chief of the Defence Force, Lieutenant General Des Mueller, AO.
